The program objectives indicate how the B.S. degree in computer science prepares students for life and work after college.

Each objective is supported by a collection of program outcomes, each describing specific abilities that students will have at the time of graduation that contribute to the desired objective.

Click on the number of an objective to see the outcomes that support it and information on how achievement of the objective will be assessed.

 

1. Graduates of the B.S. in Computer Science at ECU will be prepared with a broad technical foundation in computer science and problem solving that allows them to enter professional practice or pursue graduate studies in the discipline.
 
2. Graduates of the B.S. in Computer Science at ECU will be prepared with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to analyze, design and implement solutions to problems in computer science and software systems development.
 
3. Graduates of the B.S. in Computer Science at ECU will be prepared with communication skills and experience in teamwork that is conducive to professional practice in computing.
 
4. Graduates of the B.S. in Computer Science at ECU will be prepared with an understanding of the need for life-long learning and with an awareness of cultural, societal, and professional issues.
