Using the SPARCstation 5 and Solaris

September 1995

Austin 320 contains six Sun SPARCstation 5's running Solaris 2.4. Solaris is Sun Microsystem's version of Unix, and is based on Unix System V. Students should get accounts from their instructors. Austin 320 is usually locked. To check out a key, see Judy or Susan in the Mathematics office (Austin 129). You will need to leave your id.

Note: Please do not turn the computers in A320 off. Turn the monitors off when they are not in use, by pressing the button on the lower right, but leave the computers running. If the monitor is off when you arrive, turn it on.
