Students will acquire an ability to use current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for computing practice.

Outcome (i) contributes to objective 1.

Assessment

Vehicle: Each tool, technique and skill is associated with one or more courses and with one or more types of assignments that require the successful use of that tool, technique or skill. All instructors of the relevant courses commit to requiring assignments of the types specified.

Goal: 90% of graduating seniors successfully completed at least one assignment involving each category of tool, technique or skill specified in the list below, in each of the listed courses.

  1. Each student in CSCI 3300 and in CSCI 3310 is required to make use of an editor and compiler or interpreter to complete a programming assignment.

  2. Each student in CSCI 3300 and in CSCI 3310 is required to make use of a debugging tool.

  3. Each student in CSCI 3300 is required to make use of recursion as a problem-solving tool.

  4. Each student in CSCI 3310 and in CSCI 4230 is required to implement a multi-modular software system.
