Laboratory Information

The use of the Department of Computer Science laboratories is a privilege granted to students, staff, and faculty of the Department of Computer Science. The following rules are in place for the benefit of everyone who uses the lab. Violation of these rules may result in temporary or permanent suspension of lab privileges.

  1. Food and drinks are not allowed in the lab. You may leave drinks with caps or lids at the door or a table with no computer, but cannot have food and drinks at the workstations.

  2. Please limit phone calls to official university business only. Excessive use of the telephones for personal calls may result in revocation of lab privileges.

  3. Lab facilities are primarily for students to complete assignments related to their course work. As such, priority will be given to students who are using or need to use lab resources for that purpose. If you are using lab resources for any other purpose, you may be asked to move to another station, or to let another student use lab resources if other students are waiting.

  4. It is expected that users will cooperate with the request of the lab attendants. Any student who does not cooperate with the request of a lab attendant is subject to have lab privileges revoked.

  5. Lab attendants have the ability to reset lost or forgotten passwords. If no attendants are present, or to make other service requests, please fill out a work order request form found here and someone will address your request as soon as possible.

  6. Please be considerate of other lab users by not disturbing them while they are working. This includes things like talking excessively loud, improper (as defined by your instructor) requesting of help from other students, and playing music without headphones.
