Laboratory Information
The Department of Computer Science provides its students and faculty with access to state of the art computing equipment and software. Currently we have two general purpose labs in addition to our research labs. The general purpose labs are open to all computer science students and faculty while the research labs are accessible on an as-needed basis. The general purpose labs are located in the Austin building, rooms 208 and 209. 209 is a Microsoft Windows lab, and 208 is a UNIX (specifically Sun Solaris) lab. The lab in Austin 209 is equipped with 20 Dell computers, running MS Windows XP and includes a laser printer. The phone number for Austin 209 is 328-9697. The UNIX lab in Austin 208 is equipped with 22 Sun Blade computers, running Sun Solaris 9, and includes a laser printer. The phone number for Austin 208 is 328-9698.
The research labs are the speech and language processing lab, located in Austin 226A, the Software Engineering lab, located in the Science and Technology complex, room 234, and the graduate student lab, located in Austin 207. The Graduate Assistant Lab is equipped with 5 Sun computers running Solaris 9, three Sun Computers running MS Windows XP, a laser printer and a scanner.
